We are taking FMO to Nashville , TN in November to be evaluated for speech and language by the Camaratas at the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center. http://kc.vanderbilt.edu/site/default.aspx
Most children with language delays do poorly on tests that measure cognitive ability because they are language-based. This can result in a child being quickly assessed or diagnosed as autistic or retarded. The Camaratas use non-language-based methods to perform the assessment. They are qualified to assess children of any ability level, and have decades of experience, not to mention the research and studies they have performed.
I am so excited and grateful for this opportunity. I am looking forward to the input and ongoing support the evaluation will provide. My infinite gratitude goes to my dad and step mom for funding our journey to Elvis-ville.
